Zuidberg will specialise and invest in customer and quality

Worldwide demand for front linkage and PTO systems continues to grow. The advantages of use are known by end users and a growing group of manufacturers of tractors and (front) implements. Due to higher demands of customers and end users regarding these front linkage systems and expected added value, Zuidberg wants to distinguish itself as a supplier of customised solutions.

Consolidation and partnership

The knowledge and experience gathered since the founding of the company will be used to further expand its market share, both in supplies to (tractor) manufacturers (OEM) and in the Aftermarket (AM). Both markets will therefore receive even more attention, with the development and supply of components to the OEM market also becoming an important focus point for Zuidberg.

The aim is, on the one hand, to maintain the market share in the AM and, where possible, to expand it by entering into distribution agreements. On the other hand, to increase the OEM market share by intensifying existing contacts and entering into new partnerships.

More than 4 million euro for new investments

The Zuidberg companies are being prepared for the chosen market and product focus. Significant investments will be made in knowledge and expertise for the product groups front linkage - and PTO systems in order to achieve greater added value for the customer for both products. Various cost optimisation programmes (e.g. 'LEAN') are already ensuring higher output with higher quality levels expected by customers. These programmes are being expanded and will be given a central place within the (production) companies.

In order to meet the increased quality level and delivery requirements of (OEM) customers, investments have been made in the production line for PTO systems, making it possible to deliver customer-specific order volumes on time and at the expected quality levels. In order to guarantee this quality, all relevant parameters in the production process are recorded per unit produced. This line is now operational and also equipped with ergonomic tools to guarantee ease and pleasure of work.

Matching delivery programme

The product range for front linkage systems will be optimised so that only products that provide significant added value for our customers remain available. The product range for track systems will be slimmed down. Track systems for harvesting machinery and combine harvesters will continue to be available, where Zuidberg will continue to supply tracks for only a select group of tractors.

The development, production and sales of Zuidberg rubber tracks (belts) will be limited in order to keep the scope on the targets for both OEM and AM.

Expanding activities North America

In order to effectively meet the expected market growth in North America (Canada, United States and Mexico), Zuidberg started active processing of these markets from its own offices in 2014. Due to the success of this, it was decided to increase efforts by investing in new premises and expanding the sales team. Cedar Falls (Iowa) serves both the OEM and AM markets and further growth is now possible.

Future

Zuidberg is committed to the growth of the OEM and AM markets, but also to the growth of its organisation. Increasing the innovative power and continuously tightening up production and logistics processes are essential and will have a clear added value for its customers. The commercial organisation will be adapted to be even more visible to the market and the customer.

"The changes that Zuidberg is going through are in line with the changes in the wishes and expectations of the market. Our customers are constantly looking for opportunities to perform better. We are happy to join them", says Commercial Director Klaas Jan Bijker.
